Radiesse® Injections

Radiesse® Skin Injections – Treatment for Deep Skin Wrinkles

About Radiesse® Skin Injections
Radiesse® (formally known as Radiance®) differs from most other wrinkle filler options due to the fact that it continues to treat the selected area over a period of time. This dermal filler is made of calcium based microspheres that once injected start a process known as collagenesis. Collagenesis is the process by which the body is stimulated to produce new collagen to grow around an injection site. As a result, this treatment is considered long-lasting and is quickly becoming a preferred option.

The FDA has also approved Radiesse® skin injections for any anatomical location, vocal cord injection and oral/maxiofacial augmentation. Internationally, Radiesse® has received approval for facial implant and treatment of stress urinary incontinence.

Alternatives to Radiesse ® injections are Collagen, Cosmoplast & Cosmpderm, Perlane, Fat Transfer, Juvederm® or Restylane®..

Radiesse® is formed from calcium hydroxylapatite suspended in gel. Due to the fact that calcium hydroxylapatite is naturally found in our bones, it typically does not produce a chronic inflammatory or immune response. Because it is biocompatible, there is no need for testing prior to treatment.

There have been several different studies done regarding the longevity of Radiesse® skin injections. These reports have speculated at the results lasting anywhere between 2-5 years.
If you would like to learn more regarding Radiesse® skin injections, please contact our office for a free consultation appointment. At the consultation, the physician will discuss with you on how your specific aesthetic goals can be achieved with Radiesse® injections. Pain during treatment can vary depending on each individual’s tolerance threshold. If you have concerns regarding the treatment, please discuss them with your physician prior to treatment.

Radiesse® is injected into the selected areas with a fine needle. Typically the length of treatment ranges from 15-20 minutes. Immediately after the Radiesse® treatment, there may be a slight redness, swelling, tenderness or itching sensation at the treated area that generally goes away in a day or two.

There can be slight redness or swelling around the injected site. This is a normal reaction to injections and nothing to be concerned about. If at any time during the treatment or recovery process you have questions, please call our office.

Typically we recommend keeping an icepack on the treated area for 15 minutes to reduce possible swelling. You may take arnica (under the tongue) every two hours for the first day or two if any bruising occurs.

Radiesse® Skin Injections Cost:
Lower bound: $750
Upper bound: $1,500
National average: $900
