Perlane® is used to smooth moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles such as the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Alternative to Perlane® treatment could be Radiesse®, Juvederm or Restylane Injections.
Perlane and Restylane are excellent treatments for: wrinkle correction lip enhancement smile lines (correcting thin, superficial lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead) deep folds shaping facial contours (such as cheeks and chin correcting) volume augmentation of the lips.
Perlane® is injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle. It plumps the skin to smooth away wrinkles and folds. Perlane®’s water-loving nature attracts and binds water molecules to help maintain volume. Perlane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the body. The hyaluronic acid in Perlane® is a crystal clear gel that is chemically cross-linked to delay breakdown by skin enzymes.
Perlane® is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies have shown that effects generally last about six months. Perlane® gradually disappears from the body without a trace.
Perlane® is non-animal based and free from animal protein. This quality prevents disease transmission. Allergy pre-testing is not necessary. Side effects are mild and most go away within seven days. Perlane® Injections have been used safely by dermatologists and plastic surgeons since 2000 worldwide.
Immediately after Perlane® treatment, there may be a slight redness, swelling, tenderness or itching sensation at the treated area. This is only normal cause of the injection and the inconvenience is temporary, it generally goes away in a day or two.
Perlane® is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts using an ultra-fine needle. To help maximize your comfort, you should discuss the use of numbing medicines with your doctor prior to treatment.
Perlane® requires no pre-testing. Avoid using St. John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E supplements, aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen prior to treatment. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with your physician who may consider prescribing a medication to minimize recurrence.
Keep an icepack on the treated area for 15 minutes to reduce possible swelling. You may take arnica (under the tongue) every two hours for the first day or two if any bruising occurs.
