Natural Breast Enhancement Becomes Augmentation Alternative

The latest advance in cosmetic surgery is the combination of the two most popular choices in plastic surgery: breast augmentation and liposuction. Natural breast augmentation uses tissue from the patient’s body to create the increased volume and shapely contour that women seek in breast augmentation. This alternative has only recently been permitted in widespread use but is already showing great promise and unexpected benefits.

What Is Natural Breast Augmentation?

Traditional breast augmentation procedures relied on the insertion of silicone or saline containers into the breast tissue of a woman. No matter how innovative the technique, this operation was always invasive and caused significant trauma. This was especially the case when breast implants were inserted under the muscles in the chest.

Natural breast augmentation removes at least one concern from this surgery. Fat is taken from another part of the patient’s body and injected in the breasts. No foreign body is inserted and there is no concern about leakage or the body’s reaction to it. There is also less trauma caused by incision.

Natural Approach to Plastic Surgery

This natural approach to plastic surgery also tackles two issues at once. Doctors use liposuction to contour another part of the patient’s body, such as the buttocks, thighs and hips. Then they use the same fat to bring more volume and heft to the breasts.

Initially, doctors had concerns about the procedure. They believed that fat transferred from other parts of the body would be difficult to shape. They also had concerns that this tissue would create imaging problems in mammograms and set off false alarms about cancer.

The end result was counter-intuitive to some extent. The fat tissue does not create any of the problems foreseen. In fact, it is proving to be easier to give breasts a proper contour using this fat from the patient’s own body.

The Natural Breast Augmentation Technique

Surgeons use liposuction to gently dislodge and remove fat tissue from the patient’s hips and buttocks. This removal technique allows surgeons to harvest fat cells that are much higher quality and likely to survive the transplant. In addition, stem cells in this tissue may be encouraging recovery in the breasts.

Benefits of Natural Breast Augmentation

This procedure has been in practice in Europe for several years now. They have found that there are numerous health benefits to this surgery. By transplanting the patient’s fatty tissue, recovery is simpler and the risks are much less.

Not all patients are candidates for this surgery. When a woman is already quite thin, she may not have enough spare fatty tissue on her body to accommodate the surgery. In such cases, doctors have been known to recommend a diet heavy in fats to help women add a few pounds.
