Lip Enhancement

Lip Enhancement

Full lips are a sign of youth and sensuality, whereas thin lips can reveal true age and detract from an otherwise youthful appearance.

Alternative to laser lip enhancement could be fat Transfer, Collagen, Dermalogen, Artecolle, Hyaluronic Acid or Alloderm.

Benefits of lip enhancement are obvious - fuller, pouty lips, sexier lips, corrects uneven, crooked lips. Plumps up underdeveloped lips Adds a fuller contour to lips Pumps up thinning tissue underneath.

Until now there have only been two main options for lip augmentation; Injections and Surgery. Injections are generally quick, easy and very safe. The draw back is that in most cases they are short-lived. The available surgeries provide long lasting results but require more of a recovery time. The new Laser Lip Enhancement is faster less expensive and longer lasting than most of the previous methods.

The best candidates for lip enhancement procedure are men and women who desire a fuller more pouty lips, and those who want to remove the lines around their mouth.

Results of lip augmentation could be temporary or permanent depending on the technique used.

Lip augmentation is relatively simple procedure with few problems. However, as with all surgical procedures, complications may occur. The most common complications are; cold sore outbreak, infection, re-absorption of the implants. Be sure to discuss all your concerns with your physician.

You may return to your regular routine immediately after lips enhancement procedure. Swelling and bruising may last for three days to two weeks. Discomfort is minimal and pain medication is often not required.

The degree of discomfort after lips augmentation varies with each person depending on one's pain threshold. Topical anesthesia may also be requested based on individual preferences or tolerances. Be sure to discuss this with your physician prior to the treatment.

Avoid taking aspirin for a week prior to the lip enhancement treatment.

Compress the treated area firmly for 10 minutes to minimize bruising. Cold compresses may be continued for 1-2 hours after lip augmentation.

Lip Enhancement Cost

Lower bound: $1,500
Upper bound: $4,000
National average: $2,900

What Does the Treatment Include?

  1. Plumping: The doctor will inject a thick human-based collagen (Fascia)into your lips. Or, if you prefer, your physician can use your own fat (usually taken from the abdomen) to enhance your lips. Only local anesthesia is needed, and because the needles used are very thin most people experience little to no pain.
  2. Refining: The plumping process is repeated two to three more times, at one-month intervals. This causes your own lips to make new collagen. It is this newly built, body’s own collagen that can last for many years to come.
  3. Laser treatment: Finally, the lips are resurfaced using a laser. The laser beam penetrates to a precise, controlled depth, making the procedure safe and very predictable. This removes the fine lines leaving the texture of the lips smooth, soft and supple.
