The Blue Menace: Varicose Veins

August 17th, 2007 by Epione

Want to show off your legs?, wear a short dress or short-shorts, and can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t because you have those large blue bulges on your legs called “Varicose Veins”. Varicose veins are really larger, distended veins that are abnormally swollen or enlarged due to a weakened vein wall.

Now you can rid yourself of these unattractive veins by having a procedure called Sclerotheraphy. Sclerotheraphy can be done during your lunchtime and is a process by which a solution called sclerosant is injected into the vein with a very tiny needle. The solution irritates the lining of the vein, the vein collapses and is reabsorbed into the body, becoming barely noticeable or invisible. Typically, one to three injections per vein are necessary and the treated veins fade up to three months after the last treatment. Treatment sessions require multiple injections. No anesthesia is necessary.
