Excess Hair/Razor Bumps
There are studies indicating that more than 20% of women suffer from unwanted facial hair. This is typically the result of heredity or ethnic background but may also be the side effect of certain medications. It is thought that as many as 30% of African American men suffer pseudofolliculitis barbae or razor bumps. For men the face is the most common area to experience razor bumps.

Hair Loss
Baldness is the result of hair follicles ceasing to re-generate in certain areas and those areas eventually connecting to other areas forming a hairline. Preliminary findings have shown that BOTOX® injections into the scalp may effectively delay hair loss and even prevent baldness. While treating a patient for migraines with BOTOX® injections, Dr. Ourian realized the patient’s chemotherapy related hair loss was arrested. Eventually there was re-growth in some areas. Eventually, Dr. Ourian added a vitamin cocktail to the BOTOX® injections with the intention of improving the tissue surrounding the hair follicles by reducing scalp tension and increasing blood flow.
