Chemical Acid Peel

A Facial Chemical Acid Peel can bring about a significant improvement in the appearance of the skin rejuvenation. In this procedure a low concentration of the peeling agent TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) is mixed with a special base prior to its application. It is important to avoid direct exposure to sunlight for 4 weeks prior to a treatment. It is highly recommended that one uses a SPF 30 or greater sunscreen. If you have been instructed by the treating physician to use a topical cream 4–6 weeks prior to each treatment, it is important to follow all directions. There are times when oral antibiotics and antiviral medication is prescribed by the physician. Please take all medication as prescribed, and follow all guidelines established by the physician. After treatment, avoid direct exposure to sunlight for the first 6 weeks, and use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater. Swimming and contact sports should be avoided until your skin has healed completely. Make up may be worn only after the treatment area has healed completely.
